Bronkaid Ephedrine is
used to relieve symptoms caused by bronchial asthma. They include
cough, wheezing, shortness of breath and tightness of chest.
Bronkaid tablets help to loosen bronchial secretions and to remove
the bothersome mucus from bronchial passageways. Bronkaid contains
guaifenesin and ephedrine sulfate which are
the main working ingredients. Guaifenesin acts on receptors causing
the decrease in the thickness of bronchial secretions. Ephedrine
sulfate acts on ß-receptors in heart causing increased
heart rate and contractility. It also causes vasoconstriction
in blood vessels by acting on a-receptors. Its decongestant and
bronchodilator properties help to treat allergy and asthma while
ephedrine is mainly used as cardiac muscle and central nervous
system stimulant and as muscle relaxant.
As other drugs bronkaid has side effects such as sleeplessness,
tremor, nervousness, nausea, loss of appetite. If these symptoms
are too strong you should consult the doctor. You should also
do that before taking bronkaid if you suffer from heart disease,
diabetes, high blood pressure or thyroid disease.
